I remeber when i got my fiber connection pluged in my router and it would need to constantly flush the nat tables so it was just DCing me every minute removed the router and the internet worked fine this was at the time not a really old router and when it was new high end but it could not handle my fiber connection i borrowed a few routers from a friends father who deals with IT stuff every single commerical router just craped out on me and needed to have the nat tables flushed constantly. This allows the router to broadcast wireless N exclusively. Taking the router out of "legacy mode" will improve performance. On the 2.4GHz band these channels run very close together. Most wireless connection issues are related to interference from other routers in the area on the same channel. Many that are having speed issues only wirelessly, while having good ethernet-to-router connection speeds should download a simple wifi analyzer to their smartphone/tablet/laptop.
